Teaching Philosophy

I am active percussionist, teacher, and composer who strives to create meaningful musical experiences for students and audiences alike. My students are challenged to push their creative boundaries by preparing solo pieces, writing original compositions or arrangements, listening to curated music playlists, and doing other creative activities such as building hypothetical concert programs. Through these projects, I aim to help young people grow into the best versions of themselves.

I believe in the value of catering lessons to the individual student. Each student is unique and deserves a thoughtful plan made just for them.

Study with me!

Refine your skills on marimba, vibraphone, drum set, rudimental or orchestral snare drum, or any other percussion repertoire.

We can also work on orchestral excerpts or refine your marching percussion audition!

*Previous students have gone on to march in WGI with Matrix Open, Matrix, Cap City, and Infinity and DCI with Music City Drum Corps, the Spirit of Atlanta, and the Madison Scouts.
